Keyword match type
Hi, friends I hope you guys
are doing well today. As I am doing it soo.
So, today’s blog is about what are the kind of keyword match we as google advertiser has.
As many of you must be running
google ads for your businesses so, you must have or you should have knowledge
about what are the kind of keyword match google ads has. According to google there
are three keyword match type (eg.- Broad keyword, Phrase keyword and Exact
keyword match).
If you wish to target
particular keyword in google ads then you should be aware their modifiers. Lets
take a keyword Digital Marketing as keyword and I will explain how to target
them in google ads. First one is Broad keyword match type it doesn’t
have any modifier so suppose we have to target a keyword digital marketing as broad keyword type then we can use it as it
is. Second one is phrase match if we
have to target phrase match then we should use modifier “keyword” as in case of
digital marketing as phrase match keyword then we will have to use “Digital marketing”. Now comes last
keyword that is exact match and
modifier for exact keyword match is [keyword] as in case of digital marketing
as keyword we have to use [digital
marketing].
Lets start understanding how
these keyword match type acts if we target them in our google ads Or if you are

How keyword match type works
·
Broad match keyword
According to
official document of google
If we are targeting broad match keyword then there is high probability that our ads may trigger on searches that are related to our keyword, which can include searches that don’t contain the direct meaning of our keywords. This will attract more visitor to our website and this is default match type keyword in google ads.
As in last case which you can figure out if the user has mis-spelt then also our ads may appear before him.
·
Phrase match
If we have
targeted a phrase match then our ads may show on searches that include the
meaning of our keyword. The meaning of keyword can be implied, and user search
can be more specific. You ads can reach more number of people then exact match
but fewer then broad match. The syntax for phrase match keyword is double
inverted comma. For eg we have targeted “tennis shoes” as keyword then our ads
may trigger to following people
·
Exact match
Now we have
targeted exact match keyword then our ads may show on searches that have same
meaning or same intent as the keyword. Exact match gives us more control over
who sees our ad but reaches fewer people the broad match and phrase match.
The syntax for exact match is [keyword].
Let suppose we have targeted [shoe for men] then our ads may show to people searching for following results
