Google keyword planner is a dominant tool for digital marketer that allows advertiser and digital marketer researchers to research and analyze keyword data for their Google Ads Campaign. Google keyword planner provides insights about the specific keywords  search volume, competition, cost per click(CPC) which helps the marketers to select best performing keyword for their Google Ads campaign.

Google keyword planner is free tool provided by google ads, to use Google keyword planner you need to have Google Ads account. You can use this tool(Google Keyword Planner) to get the search volume of specific keyword you can also get the forecast of specific keyword. So, let get started and explore how to use google keyword planner.

To start-up with Google Keyword Planner you need to log-in into your gmail or Google account. Then navigate to website https://ads.google.com and click on get started. When you will login to google ads account you need to click on the google ads account which you want to use to explore about google keyword planner. Once you login into google ads account you need to go to Switch to tools and settings when you will click on tools and setting you will get a various options of planning tab you will see an option of performance planner and just below that you will find keyword planner. You need to click on keyword planner here you will get two options the very first option will of Discover new keywords which will say as "get keyword ideas that can help you reach people interested in your product or service"  and the other option will be of get search volume and forecast which will say as "get search volume and other historical metrics, plus forecasts for how could they perform".

So, if you want to go with discover new keywords for your business you need to click on discover new keywords when you click on that  here as well you will get two option start with keyword and start with website.  In this blog i will walk you through step by step process of how to use keyword research for your business and in next blog we will learn how to use use website to get keyword ideas.

So, in first option you need to enter products or services which is closely related to your area of expertise or business. Try any  word (keyword) which is related to your are of business let suppose i have digital marketing company and i provide the services in particular area so, i will enter a keyword digital marketing just below that you will get the option of language(You can select the preferred language weather English or Hindi or any native language ) and area of your business(area of business is related to in which area you wish to advertise about your business and in which area you will able to provide product and services to your clients). Suppose i run an agency which provides services in Bihar i will change the location to Bihar or if you are small business you have the flexibility of choosing a area or you can also do that(You can even target based on postal code or zipcode). Once you have selected the area of your business you can save the changes and click on get results.

Here, you will get various result to broaden your result and select new keywords which may be suitable for your business. In above picture i have highlighted the keyword and the area of business. You need to select the keywords and create new ad group for it and click on save. After saving your keyword you can also get the forecast from the left panel click on forecast. Once you do that you will get the forecast of your keyword.

The forecast in Google keyword planner gives you prediction about the keyword and it will tell you about how many conversion or clicks you will get for your budget with average daily budget. In the chart you will find different metrics like impressions, clicks, cost, CTR here comes what is impression so, impression is number of times your ads has been appeared in google search results, what is clicks clicks is the number of clicks which your ad got while someone was looking for that product or services, now come ctr is nothing but click through rate. A question will arise in your mind that what is CTR so, here is the answer it is the number of clicks which you will get which is termed in percentage. Suppose you got 100 impressions on your ad and you got 8 clicks then CTR which you got is 8% out of 100. Generally CTR is expressed in percentage.
