How to put Google Tag manger on website
Google tag manager is
a free tool provided by Google that enables any individual to add and manage
tracking tags (snippets of code) on their website without requiring any coding
knowledge. With the help of Google tag manager, anyone can easily add tracking
codes for various third party tools such as Google analytics, Google Ads,
Facebook pixel and many more. We can also track specific events or actions on a
website such as form submissions, clicks, and downloads with the help of Google
tag manager.
If you don’t wish to read full blog then you can watch the video in which I have implemented Google Tag manager code for all tag setup(weather tags are of Google Analytics, Google ads Remarketing code):
Step by step process to use Google tag manager on website
Note: If you don’t have Google or Gmail account and you wish to create the Google or Gmail account then you should read this blog: “How to create a Google or Gmail account”
· Step1: Search for Google tag
manager in Google and then click on it or you can type tagmanager.google.com in
url and hit enter. The first page will look like this
Now it will ask you to
Add a New Account so, you need to name the Account(You can use name of your
website to be account name) then select the country name.
·
Step2: Now setup the
container (container name should be the url of your website) and now select the
target platform so, if you want it to be setup on to your website then select
website or if you want it to be setup on your app then you need to select apps(android
or IOS app). Now click on create and here it will ask for data terms and
condition so, you need to accept the terms and condition.
·
Step3: After you click on yes
(data terms and conditions) it will give you two codes so in first code which
you need to put in head section on your website and the other code will be of
body section you need to put the code in body section.
Note: If you are using Wordpress website then you can put
the code by the help of plug-in called (header and footer code) and click on
save. But if you don’t wish to use plug-in then you can go to appearance >>
then to theme editor section and find the file header.php and put the code in
head and body section.
· Step4: After submitting code to your website come back to Google Tag Manager account and check weather code has been successfully submitted to your website or not. Go to overview section and click on submit and then on publish. You will find the code is live on your website.
